[QRR 10,015] Mining safety standards etc to apply to certain quarries2A 

2A
(1) The Director may, by notice published in the Gazette, declare a quarry or a part of a quarry, specified in the notice to be a prescribed undertaking.
(2) Subject to paragraph (3), the provisions of Part 11 of the Mining Regulations 1966 apply, in addition to the provisions of these Regulations, to and in relation to a prescribed undertaking.
(3) For the purpose of the application of the provisions of Part 11 of the Mining Regulations 1966 to and in relation to a prescribed undertaking—
  • (a)those provisions are modified as set out in Schedule 2; and
  • (b)expressions that occur—
    • (i)in those provisions as so applied (in this paragraph referred to as ‘the applied provisions’); and
    • (ii)in those provisions as in force under the Mining Act 1965 (in this paragraph referred to as ‘the original provisions’),

shall, unless the contrary intention appears, have in the applied provisions the same respective meanings as they have in the original provisions.
